Video Snapshot

Southern New Hampshire University is one of the largest colleges in the U.S., with the majority of its more than 200,000 students enrolled online. SNHU worked with Xalient to help plan and implement a modern Identity program.

We created a strategy, including the selection of an Identity platform (SailPoint’s IdentityNow was chosen), implemented the program, and now provide support through Managed Services. The SNHU project was the second largest IdentityNow project ever implemented, managing more than 1.5 million identities.

During this conversation, Senior Director of IAM Kevin Leggett discusses the journey and lessons learned.  He starts with the role that Advisory and Phase 0 stages played in preparing the teams and accelerating time to value. Kevin also discusses how our teams dealt with a very complex environment, including 4 authoritative sources and dual student information systems (Colleague and Banner).

Key Details

  • Phase 0: A deep dive examination of their environment, including application integrations and lifecycle evaluation of all user types
  • Updating their Student Information System (SIS) from Colleague to Banner Cloud
A consolidated system of record for contractors using SailPoint’s NERM
  •  The amazing role “Identity Mastering” played in dramatically reducing duplicates
  • Why they chose Xalient to support their program through Managed Services

Kevin has a long history with both IAM and Higher Education. He provides valuable insight on common challenges that many organizations and universities face. If you’re interested in either, the video is time well spent.
