Global media company saves costs through WAN Optimisation and records step-change in network performance ahead of a move to SD-WAN.
One of the largest media recording companies in the world, employing in excess of 3,500 people in more than 50 countries worldwide, turned to Xalient to help transform its global communication network.
In an industry routinely engaged in the transference of huge volumes of electronic media around the world, the Company’s global network was critical its day to day operations, and increasingly so as more and more cloud-based apps were being rolled out each year.
Facing escalating costs as demands for bandwidth grew exponentially. In addition, there was significant pressure on the IT team to reduce the number of outages across the network and to increase overall user experience, in particular as its workforce made use of these new cloud-based systems.
To address the problem, Xalient undertook a complete review of their MPLS based global network, its reliability, performance and costs, then recommended that a WAN optimization program, to be fully managed and delivered ‘as-a-service’ by Xalient. Utilising Silver Peak WAN Optimisation solution, Xalient began the task of optimizing performance of over 130 applications on the client’s network, bringing to the table significant technical networking and communications knowledge and a leading-edge software solution.
