Our Approach

Corporate Social Responsibility at Xalient embraces those actions we take that positively impact our customers, shareholders, employees, suppliers and the communities in which we work.

Xalient and the Environment

We acknowledge that the work we do can  impact our environment and take our responsibilities towards sustainability very seriously, encouraging all staff members to adopt sustainable practices. Our aim is to engage  our staff and stakeholders in identifying and delivering environmental objectives which will eliminate, or at least minimise as far as possible any environmental impact we have on the environment.

Energy and Carbon

We’re working with Make It Wild (MIW) to off-set out carbon footprint and help us on our way to becoming carbon neutral. Make it Wild encourages people to take responsibility for their carbon footprint. They offer individuals and businesses the possibility of off-setting their own carbon footprint through planting trees and improving their ‘green’ credentials.

To date, we have off-set 100 tonnes of Co2 with MIW planting trees on our behalf. We have recently purchased another 100 tonnes to off-set again this year, as we work towards achieving a carbon neutral status.

Travel

We encourage our employees to take public transport where possible and have strategically picked our office locations to ensure they are easily accessible via public transport for commuting.

Where possible, we minimise the amount of business travel undertaken , promoting the use of online meetings where appropriate to reduce emissions produced by business travel.

Waste Management

We are aware that paper waste forms the majority of office waste and we are committed to recycling all white office paper, including photocopy paper, computer paper, letterheads and laser prints. All unused carboard is also recycled.

We endeavour to upgrade our equipment wherever possible. Where this is not possible, IT and electrical equipment is either donated or will be given to the Local Authority under the ‘IT reuse and recycling scheme’.

Xalient in the Community

We are strong believers in ‘giving back’ at Xalient and are dedicated to being a responsible contributing member of society, seeking to build strong relationships with the local community.

Our current charities are with Leeds Children’s Charity, Magic Children’s Charity in Romania and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and as a team, we drive a full programme of fundraising and support activities throughout the year to raise vital funds for these worthwhile causes.

Our employees are also making a difference through involvement with these charities as well as others, and we encourage each employee to take an additional day of paid leave per annum, in order to undertake activities related to social responsibility – whether that be fundraising, supporting a charitable cause or undertaking voluntary work.
