Read on to find out his motivation for joining Xalient and what makes him tick!
What is your current role at Xalient and how long have you been part of the Xalient family?
Business Development Manager for the Benelux region. I have only been part of the Xalient family since this Monday, so this interview is on my fourth day.
What motivated you to join Xalient?
As a people person myself one of the biggest reasons for joining are the people at Xalient. I had very positive clicks with everybody during my interviews. It’s probably a slogan many companies say they have but Xalient really proves to be an exceptional workplace with an inspiring culture.
How does Xalient align with your career goals and values?
Very well! We are not here for the quick win but for a long-term relationship with our customers. We are successful and are growing rapidly by putting our customers first. I really like this approach, so my goal is to stay at Xalient for a long time and be part of the future by contributing to this success.
Describe a typical day in your role?
These first couple of days of course are a bit different than normal but in general I try to make my days as busy as possible. I love a day with different meetings with existing customers, potential customers, partners or colleagues. I plan to meet people more face to face and not via Teams etc. as this has been more and more the case since covid.
What do you enjoy most about working at Xalient?
The people who work here and the extensive knowledge they have.
How would you describe the team culture at Xalient?
A family culture. Be the best at what you do but enjoy life and have fun at the same time.
What’s your favourite thing about the industry Xalient operates in?
This industry is all about looking forward and be innovative. Xalient doesn’t replicate what others do but focuses on being a successful part of our customers’ journey into the digital future. We are a specialized partner but this ‘niche’ is very wide so there is a lot to learn.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career at Xalient?
If you recognize anything from above, don’t hesitate to contact us. A personal fit is more important than the right experience, so you are more than welcome.
Share an interesting fact about yourself that others might not know.
I have learned all capitals of the world in the past (when I was young and bored)
Is there something on your personal or professional bucket list?
I really like to travel but somehow have never been to New York in my life. I also want to be better at certain sports like padel tennis, golf and bowling.
Are you into any specific tech gadgets or innovations?
On a personal level I am a late adaptor with most tech gadgets. ChatGPT has been sensational.
What’s the last book you read or movie/TV show you enjoyed?
I have three young kids so I don’t read as much as I want to, so I still have a pile of books I need to read like the biography of Elon Musk and a book about Putin. I have enjoyed one of the last TV shows I saw, The Umbrella Academy. I also saw the movie Poor Things, a bizarre movie but I understand why Emma Stone received an Oscar for her role.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I should say New York now obviously but I choose Japan as my answer. A very historically rich country which should be very interesting and beautiful.
What are your must-have apps for productivity or relaxation?
Mostly news related apps and of course Spotify for music and podcasts. But scrolling through them right now I have a guilty pleasure named Funda, a Dutch real estate app, where you can check out interesting houses.
What’s an item or possession you cherish the most?
I am not very materialistic, so I cherish memories with friends and family above all.
